It's been a long time, but we didn't leave you! Instead we have yet another CAP interview for you. One very important, and many times overlooked, step in the relocating/moving process is finding a roaddog that can fill in the shoes of the roaddog you just left behind. This is not that important for women, because for the most part they don
danZenie: This is our first interview in quite some time. I don't know if you remember but the original idea behind the interviews was the pick the minds of what we call CAPs (Cool As People). That idea still stands, and my first question is "What makes you one"?
CoLON BuayI don't consider myself to be cool. If people view me as a cool person it should be a reflection of who I am, not merely acting like a "cool" person.
danZenie One of the ideas behind supremebeings.org, is to attempt to bring many different topics of wide interest into one umbrella. That's just what life is about. We attempt to relate IT, Hip Hop, Politics, Current Events, Race, in one way or another. How would you co-relate C.E. to Hip Hop.
CoLON BuayMan, that's a tough question. C.E. (Civil Engineering) is rather broad profession with a lot of spontaniety and creativity. Hip Hop for me is life- it has defined the way I carry myself, so when I go to a construction site or just talk to clients, I'm not all about business or engineering, unless asked. I talk to everyone, whether it's an illegal alien digging a trench to the Project Manager, the same and treat them like humans.
danZenie In reference to question 2, what can one learn from the other.
CoLON BuayHip hop has leveled the playing field for many. I think the engineering business has a lot to learn about that. They have "good ol' boy" systems still running around. Another thing, hip hop has taught one how to live life. Engineers could learn a great deal of that; they spend too much time designing.
danZenie What are your thoughts on the new immigration laws that they are trying approve in the U.S. (illegal immigrant = felony, great wall of U.S, immigrant worker, etc) What would you propose?
CoLON Buay America since its inception has been addicted to slave labor; it's a trait of the US economy. Is their a solution? NO...Walls, work permits, convicting people does nothing but creates more of a fallible bureacracy and more of our tax dollars ill-wasted. Unless somehow Mexico begins to prosper, and the only way that would happen is if their is an equal distribution of wealth (not in a communist sense; but rather paying people "real" wages). Unfortunately, with the ruling bourgeouise families in control for the past 80+ years, the chances are very slim. In addition, I think their is a racist agenda behind the proposal for immigration reform. Sorry my explanation was long.
danZenie What's wrong/right with black people? (Choose one, or both).
CoLON Buay Wrong: Being black, there are a lot of things I need to correct myself with first before I start pointing fingers at my own people. "If you want to make a world a better place/take a look at yourself and make a change"...Mike, if you reading this, come back home; leave Bahrain, sell Neverland and come back to Gary. One of those issues that I would like to work on myself is mentoring these young minds going through school now.
Right: Black people will refuse to be given the incorrect answer to anything, whether it's a price on a item or an issue at work. We don't take SHIIITTTTT...PERIOD.
As a latin Wrong: Same as above
Right: We live and enjoy life to the fullest. Not every thing is work and family; there's a real person behind those eyeballs..
danZenie What's wrong/right with Hip Hop? (Choose one, or both).
CoLON Buay Wrong: I hate to get on southern rap but I think they are common cause. When hip hop started it was raw, uncut, basic lyrics but still uncut, and as we evolved so did artists, beats, lyrics, and what not. Now, southern rap has pretty much lowered the standard. Anyone, it seems, can make a CD on "screw" (if you don't know SCREW, it is BULLSHIT) spitting some bullshit elementary rhymes. They don't provide insight, just a lot of bass and a hook.
Right: Hip Hop is life, not just music. It's a sense of being someone; that you are not a clone of someone else, even though it's perceived that way. It's my music, I grew up to this shit. I love it. I blast Microphone Fiend on the interstate and lay over the rhymes as if I was Rakim. Hip hop helps me be myself.
danZenie We do this all the time, but this would probably the last time as it might be getting a bit played out. Your comments/thoughts on the following:
- UN: Weak- Too much bureacracy.
- Terrorism: It depends on how you define it. When someone fighting for their land, like the Palestinians; I call them freedom fighters, whether civilians are caught in the middle or not. I think Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist.
- Homophobia: Stupid
- danZenie: making tuna and egg sandwiches at the apartment; my older brother that I never had
- Dave Chappelle: Richard Pryor? Eddie? He's getting there...
- George Bush: Can't wait for 08.
- Manuel Antonio Noriega: What about him?
- Lost: If you referring to the TV show, then NO. If you are asking if I'm lost?..Yeah, but I'm finding my way.
- Ahead of the game: Got to be cuz the real cat is two steps ahead.
- Underestimated: My whole life
- Model Citizen: Ghandi and Mother Teresa are so close to perfect, but I chose Clinton cause no matter what he mattered to the world, he proved that he was a man...a normal human being...a model for all men/women
danZenie Product or Service? Which one, and why? We need details.
CoLON Buay I should have invested in minerals, gold & silver, specifically, when it was less than $360 and $3, respectively, back in 03. Now check it, gold is at $590 and silver at $11 (in ounces)....Definitely a seller's market...And you better believe the price will continue to go up as investors rely less on fiat currency and go back to the standard, and as central banks gobble up supplies awaiting for next financial storm that will take place.
danZenie Hurricane Katrina... who is responsible for the results of this disaster?
CoLON Buay Fed Gov't. The city dependend on the levees which are maintained by the US Army Corps, a fed agency. No funding, no levees, literally speaking. Simple problem requires a simple solution.
danZenie You are "El Presidente" of Panama. What do you do for your first 100 days. Will "they" try to assassinate you? Will they succeed?
CoLON Buay To answer the second question first, NO...I will be permanent dictator cuz my skills will be flawless...LOL Seriously speaking, NO...and I doubt if they succeed cuz I'll have "a squad of killa bitches that all carry UZIs"
First 100 days- Any country will grow if you promote trade...To ensure trade the gov't has to provide a couple of things: security, infrastructure, and be laissez-fair-ish...pretty basic right...
danZenie Freeflow - Give us your last thoughts on whatever
CoLON Buay Are we heading towards a global depression? Who knows, but I think we are heading toward global hegemony, and that may prove to be worse. It's scary times my friend; "hold your cocks and grab your socks"
