This is an old piece that I never had the chance to post, but I'm sure many of you can still find it worth your time. White people are mutants... but then again so are alll other people. Yes, black people also. What? You thought you were special? You're just like on of those ninja turtles. It is what it is. Anyway, scientist have found a DNA change that accounts for white skin. One would think that the one for other skin colors would be in the same place, but such is science.
Snippet: The work suggests that the skin-whitening mutation occurred by chance in a single individual after the first human exodus from Africa, when all people were brown-skinned. That person's offspring apparently thrived as humans moved northward into what is now Europe, helping to give rise to the lightest of the world's races.
